Overview
Fascias and soffits do a job most homeowners never think about until it's gone wrong: the fascia carries the full weight of your guttering and closes off the end of the roof timbers, while the soffit ventilates the roof void and keeps birds, wasps and squirrels out of it. When timber fascias rot — and painted softwood eventually always does — water gets behind them and into the roof structure itself, long before there's any visible sign of a problem on the tiles above.
We replace timber fascias, soffits and bargeboards with maintenance-free uPVC, fitted cleanly along the full roofline and colour-matched so it looks intentional rather than patched. Ventilated soffit boards are used where the roof void needs airflow to prevent condensation building up in the loft — a detail that's easy to skip and expensive to ignore.
Because guttering is fixed directly to the fascia, this is also the natural point to replace tired guttering at the same time, which is why we usually quote the two together.

Inspect the roofline
We check the condition of the existing fascias, soffits and guttering together, since a problem with one often explains a problem with another.

Choose colour & style
White is the default, but anthracite grey, black and woodgrain finishes are all available if you want the roofline to match the rest of the property.

Remove the old timber
Rotten boards come off completely — we don't clad over failing timber, because that just hides the problem instead of fixing it.

Fit uPVC boards & soffits
New fascia and ventilated soffit boards go up along the full roofline, with proper end caps and trims for a clean finish.

Refit guttering
Existing guttering is refitted or replaced (see our guttering service) now that it has a solid, level fascia to sit on.

Clear away waste
Old timber and offcuts are removed from site — you're not left with a skip's worth of rotten wood to deal with yourself.

What colours are available?
White is the standard option, but anthracite grey and black are increasingly popular for a more contemporary look, and woodgrain foil finishes are available if you want to keep a traditional appearance without the maintenance.
Why does the soffit need ventilation?
Without airflow through the soffit, moisture from the house gets trapped in the loft space, leading to condensation, mould and — eventually — rot in the roof timbers themselves. Vented soffits are cheap insurance against a much more expensive problem.
Do uPVC fascias need any maintenance?
Realistically, just an occasional wash down. They don't need painting, sanding or treating the way timber does, which is the entire point of switching to uPVC.
Can you match the fascia colour to my windows or doors?
In most cases, yes — uPVC fascia ranges cover the same common colours as window and door frames, so we can usually get a close or exact match.
